Retired MSG Joseph Bernard Legg

Ret. MSG. Joseph Bernard Legg, 77, of Fayetteville was received in Heaven on October 23, 2016 peacefully with his wife and family by his side.

MSG. Legg was born in Clay Co, W. Va. on November 26, 1938 to the late Jesse and Zelma Legg. He was preceded in death by two Brothers; Jack S. and Russel E. Legg.

MSG. Legg was a Vietnam and Korean War Veteran, who retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service in 1976. Following his retirement, MSG. Legg worked in the Civil Service field. He loved being outdoors, gardening, and working on old cars. Most of all, he was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed.

MSG. Legg is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; Peggy, two Daughters; Tracey L. Berger (Daniel) of Huntsville, AL, and Dana J. Kemplin of Fayetteville, Son; Joseph B. Legg (Carrie) of Fayetteville, Sister; Dorma L. Petty (Ralph) of Wise; Va, Brother; Walter D. Melton of Cary, seven Grandchildren and nine Great-Grandchildren.
