Ret. MSG Thomas "Tom" Dickerman

Ret. MSG Thomas E. Dickerman, Sr., 76, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016. Tom was born in Connecticut. He later moved to North Carolina, there he married the love of his life in 1967.  He retired from the US Army after 27 1/2 years of service.  After retiring, he worked for the USDA Wildlife Management Control Program. He loved fishing, hunting, trapping, chainsaw carving, snow plowing, raising birds and spending time with his horses and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Eunice Dickerman, and his brother Donald V. Dickerman.  He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sue; his children, Pamela Birch and husband Ray of Linden, Thomas E. Dickerman, Jr. and wife Crystal of Eastover, Cheryl Jackson and husband Tim of Fayetteville; 19 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 4 sisters, Helen Sartirana, Sue D'Onofrio and husband Joe, Donna Rohkohls and husband Greg, and Sandy Nichols.

Visitation will be held at Lafayette Funeral Home Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Hillside Baptist Church in Hope Mills at 12:00 on Thursday, November 10, 2016 with Rev. Terry Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
