Karen Jane (Minnick) Oxendine

Ms. Karen Minnick Oxendine, 63, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.  

Karen was born in Garrett County, MD on August 16, 1952 to the late Raymond Blane Minnick Sr. and Jean Parker Minnick. She worked for the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum before retiring. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Oxendine Sr. a son, Archie Clayton Minnick and 3 siblings, Joyce Lynn Minnick, Mary Elizabeth Minnick and Donnie Ray Minnick. Karen loved the outdoors, cooking and especially having cook outs. She will be greatly missed.        

She is survived by her sons, Harold D. Oxendine and Michael Oxendine; brothers, Charles Minnick, Raymond Minnick, William Minnick and Eugene Minnick; a sister, Carol Minnick; 5 grandchildren, Britney Nicole Minnick, Michael Hall, Joshua Minnick, Zachary Scott Oxendine and Shiane Minnick; 2 great grandchildren, Kourtnie Ribar and Anniston Areau; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. 

A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Family Community Baptist Church, 4436 Cumberland Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28306 with Pastor Roy Arrington officiating.
