Mr. John ‟Dean” Riel, 65, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in Carolina Rehab Center.

Dean was born in Cumberland County to Jack and Justyn Cramwell Riel. He served in the US Army from 1972-1976. After the Army he owned and operated his own DJ service, known as The Spin Doctor before retiring. Along with his father, he is preceded in death by a son, Leo Cornell.

Dean is survived by his wife, Glenna Riel of Hope Mills; his mother, Justyn Riel of White Lake; a son, Alan Cornell and his wife Hallie of Cambridge Springs, PA; daughters, Sunni Covell and husband Scott of Selma, Marcy Cornell of Ocala, Fl; a brother, Tom Riel and wife Irene of White Lake; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and many extended family members and friends.

A Service to Celebrate his life will be 4:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2017 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Pastor Robert Staples officiating.
