James Alson Culbreth

Mr. James “Jimmy” Culbreth, 70, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Cape Fear Valley Medical center of complications from Pneumonia.

Jimmy was born in Cumberland County on February 28, 1945 to Howard A. Culbreth Sr. and Helen Melton Culbreth. He is preceded in death by his father, Howard A. Culbreth Sr. and step-father, James L. Teague.  

Jimmy is survived by his son, James A. Culbreth Jr. (Elisabeth) of Carthage, NY; his mother, Helen Melton Culbreth Teague of Fayetteville; his companion, Elleen Chapman of Fayetteville; a brother, Howard A. Culbreth Jr. (Beverly) of Fayetteville; a sister, Eva Culbreth Russell of Greenville, NC and a step sister, Gayle Teague Frinak (John) of Fayetteville; 3 grandchildren, Caroline, Abby and Connor.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Galatia Presbyterian Church, 8800 Galatia Church Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304 with pastor Brett Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service in the church parlor.

Burial will be private.
